In Live/Play’s final episode, we learn about the people behind Sanctuary of Legends, a League of Legends community focused on supporting players who struggle with mental health issues. We also learn about a two women in the Mexico esports scene, and a young player in Chile who had League to help him through being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and the heart transplant that followed.
Riot Games and the Live/Play team have done an outstanding job of telling the powerful human stories of League of Legends players. If you haven’t watched the other episodes, they’re well worth checking out. They deal with anxiety, loss, identity, and the connections we make through the games we play, and they remind League players that whatever struggles they’re dealing with, they definitely aren’t alone.
