We’re less than three weeks out from PAX Australia, and we’re looking forward to it being one of our best conventions yet. We’ll have more news soon about the details of our presence at the show, but it’s sure to be a good one.

We could still use a little help getting ready to help Australian gamers. If you’re planning to attend and you’re willing to share a few hours of your time volunteering, please let us know.

One of the most important things Take This does at many of the conventions we attend is providing a little calm in a sea of excitement and overstimulation with our AFK Room program. Each time we open the doors of an AFK Room, we first make sure the room quiet, welcoming, and staffed with clinicians and other volunteers who can help our visitors in their moments of need — whether they need a breather from a hectic convention or a safe place to cope with mental health issues.

While the space and the people in it make the biggest difference, we also need to ensure the rooms are well-stocked with both practical items, like signs and first aid kits, and tools to help keep our visitors calm and grounded, like coloring books.

So if you’d like to chip in to make our AFK Room the best it can be, we welcome donations of supplies. We keep an Amazon Wish List up to date with everything we currently need to run our rooms. Anything you buy from it will be sent directly to us. If you visit via Amazon Smile and select Take This, Inc. as your charity of choice, a portion of your purchase price will also be used to support our mission. Every little bit counts, and we appreciate the support. You should see the smiles on our faces when a care package arrives in the mail, knowing it will be used to help make sure everyone can have a good time at events like PAX Australia. We also accept monetary donations, which help cover the costs associated with programs like the AFK Room.

Are you going to be at PAX Australia? If so, we can’t wait to see you there.
