This Short Documentary Explores LARP, Autism and the Power of Acceptance

LARPing Saved My Life is a short documentary by VICE. It follows Jon Gallagher, a LARPer with Asperger’s syndrome, and other members of his community. For Gallagher, like for many others, LARP is a chance to be a protector and a hero, a chance to make friends and work outside his comfort zone, and a chance to be part of something much larger than himself. As he discusses in the film, it’s also a chance to practice skills that specifically help him as an autistic man.
