We’re looking for more people to join the wonderful volunteers at our booth and in the AFK Room. Volunteers at our booth can spread word of the Take This mission, show their support for mental health awareness in the video game industry, and make sure our Boxes of Hope and Psychomancer pins find good homes. AFK Room volunteers will help people on a more personal basis, so we’re particularly looking for any mental health clinicians and students who are — or want to be — involved with the gaming community.
If you’re interested in volunteering for the AFK Room, please tell us a bit about yourself— and please include your name, the dates and times you’re not available during PAX East (March 10 – 12 in Boston, MA), degrees and licensure status. If you’d like to volunteer at our booth, please fill out the form at this link.
If you can’t make it to the show but you want to support our efforts there, you can help us meet the needs of attendees by buying something off our Amazon Wish List (you can select Take This as your Amazon Smile charity of choice to support us with the purchase, too). And if you want to see the AFK Room come to other events, why not consider supporting our fundraising campaign, and maybe taking home a plushy, limited-edition pin or Box of Hope while you’re at it?
We truly appreciate your help. It’s dangerous to go alone, after all, and we couldn’t offer the support we give convention-goers without you.
