Donate to Take This
Want to help us fund the AFK Room program and our educational and awareness efforts? With your donation, you can bolster programs that raise awareness and educate people about mental health. You’ll also support our efforts to make the game world a healthier, safer place, particularly for people coping with mental health issues.
Take This frequently attends major conventions and expos and always needs help maintaining our locations or staffing our AFK Rooms. If you have clinical psychiatric experience, or would simply like to assist others in need, this is the area where we need the most help. You do not need to be a clinician to help out!
Generally, we also have a Hope Booth where we can accept donations and offer Take This branded items and information to Take This supporters. Volunteers are always needed to staff those booths, especially at our less-established shows.
Sign up to be informed when we have volunteer opportunities or events in your area, and please be sure to let us know if you have clinical psychiatric experience. If you know anyone else who might be interested, please share the signup link.
Each time we open the doors of an AFK Room, we first make sure the room quiet, welcoming, and staffed with clinicians and other volunteers who can help our visitors in their moments of need — whether they need a breather from a hectic convention or a safe place to cope with mental health issues.
We also make sure each room is well-stocked. To that end, we keep an up-to-date wishlist of all the items required to make each AFK Room exactly what show attendees and exhibitors need. Purchasing the coloring books, tissues, gaffers tape and other tools on the list helps us put together a calm, secure space everywhere we go.
