A League of Legends Pro Opens Up About Depression On Stream

Richard “Valkrin” Royer is a popular League of Legends streamer and a substitute player for Team SoloMid, one of the highest-ranking professional League teams around. That’s a hard position to beat, but as he explains in the video above, he wasn’t always satisfied with his place in the eSports world.

When a viewer of one of Valkrin’s streams asked him if he had any history with mental health issues, Valkrin opened up about how his early eSports ambitions helped fuel depression. Afterwards, he archived the stream to share it with more viewers and let eSports fans and players who are struggling know that they aren’t alone.
