A Psychological Look at ‘Logan’

Content warning: Spoilers for Logan, violence.

If you’ve seen Logan, you know it delves into some pretty dark territory. Wolverine is a character with a long, painfully history, and the film isn’t afraid to explore the consequences of that.

In this video for Shrink Tank, Jonathan Hetterly, LPC takes us through some of the traits, situations and mental health issues that come up in Logan. He gets into such fun topics as:

  • PTSD
  • Attachment Disorders
  • Alcoholism
  • Chronic Pain
  • Aging and the role of caretaker

If you haven’t seen the film and plan to, hold off — there are a lot of spoilers within. But if you have, Hetterly does a great job of exploring why the damaged, weakened Wolverine we meet in the film rings so true.
