8 weeks ago, we were facing a budget shortfall of $80,000 and the very real possibility of having to close our doors. With the survival of the org on the line, we lit the beacons and called for aid.
And. You. Answered.
The Take This community, from individual supporters and stream teams to partner organizations and corporate supporters, showed up in an unprecedented way. Over the last 8 weeks, you the community raised nearly $100,000 to see us through our budget crisis.
We’ve always said it’s dangerous to go alone, and while we are not out of the woods just yet, this past year has proven time and again that we are not alone. There are no words to convey the team’s depth of gratitude toward everyone who has continued to have faith in us, continued to support us, and continued to fight for us.
We are delighted to share that we will be keeping our doors open and are making plans for 2025 with core goals of organizational stability and financial sustainability. But we’re not waiting for 2025 to make those goals happen – there’s work to do right now in 2024. The next few weeks are an important transitional period for the org as we reset, reevaluate, and recommit to our mission and our community. For those of you who like specifics, you can anticipate a more detailed update on what Take This will look like in 2025 to be posted during the first week of November.
