Take This is very excited to welcome two volunteer staff members to the team! Chris Leech and Jamy Drapeza have joined us as our new Accelerate Program Coordinator and Events and Community Outreach Coordinator respectively. Neither Jamy nor Chris is new to the Take This community — Chris is a former member of our Community Review Board, and Jamy is an Accelerate season 1 alumnus. We’re so grateful that both of them are so dedicated to our mission and have agreed to help us out in strengthening and expanding our programming.
About Chris

Chris Leech (he/him) is a Lecturer of Psychology at the University of Brighton (UK). Chris’ PhD is in psychology looking at video games and student mental health. A person with Albinism, which means he’s visually impaired/legally blind, Chris is an accessibility consultant, author, presenter, podcast host, and content creator. He combines elements of mental health awareness, research, and accessibility throughout all his content, and has been involved with mentorship, accessibility and various charities for many years. He will be bringing all of that experience to the Accelerate program, helping shepherd the program to even greater heights!
About Jamy

Jamy Drapeza, LICSW, LMSW (they/she) is a psychotherapist licensed in DC and NY, and alumni of the first class of the Take This Accelerate Fellowship. Jamy’s professional background as a nonprofit startup launcher and program developer spans alternatives to incarceration, leadership programming for systems-involved youth of color, transitional housing for LGBTQ+ young adults, and economic mobility coaching for families breaking cycles of intergenerational poverty. As the Events and Community Outreach Coordinator, Jamy is excited to apply their experience with gathering and training to the Take This community while she helps us with AFK Rooms around the country and the world!
