After two successful workshops so far, the November installment of our 2026 Talks series will be Closing The Loop: Coping With Structural Stress with Take This’ Lead Workshop Consultant, Brian Kunde. Brian will be discussing the neurology behind stress and how that can help us identify effective ways to cope with stressors stemming from things outside our direct control, such as layoffs and industry instability.
Closing the Loop: Coping with Structural Stress
• Date: Nov 16, 2026
• Time: 5pm PT|8pm ET
• Cost: FREE
• Registration: Coping with Structural Stress
We’ve gotten lots of requests to record the workshops for later viewing, as life often gets in the way and many folks have been unable to attend a live session as planned. We also recognize how difficult it would be for Take This to provide enough sessions to cover multiple time zones and schedules. We value safe spaces for discussing tough topics, but it is important that we make these supports accessible to as many people as possible.
Starting in November, we’ll be recording each workshop and providing everyone who registered with video access afterwards. NOTE: To make sure we still hold space for authentic conversations, the Q&A Discussion portion of each workshop will remain private and not be included in the recording. As an extra layer of safety, each video will be reviewed and given light edits as needed.
Because we will be using our events platform to distribute a link to the video, you’ll still need to register as normal ahead of time to receive access. Make sure to check the box allowing us to contact you after the event, as well! We aim to have the video available within one week of each event.
Closing The Loop: Coping With Structural Stress will be held online Monday, November 16th at 5 PM PDT/8 PM EDT via Zoom. Can’t make it but still want to see the workshop? Make sure to register, and we’ll send you a recording afterwards! Seating is open to any and all of our community members impacted by layoffs in the game industry, and admission is FREE (though donations are happily accepted). You can register for the November 2026 workshop through our GiveButter here.
“I’ve always found it vital in my clinical practice to not just discuss the importance of coping skills, but to help people identify which coping skills are best suited to helping their brains and bodies manage a specific stressor based on current research, “ says Brian, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist, “This is especially important when we’re stressed out by a problem there’s no quick or easy solution for, such as finding a new job or navigating a layoff.”
Take This Talks is a community mental health workshop series provided by experts at the intersection of mental health and the game industry. This series is made possible through the generosity of our sponsors and community. You can learn more about the series and how to support our work here.
